Privacy notice
Version 2026-10-03-1
For parents
Wee Shepherds helps UK families read Bible stories and do activities together. This notice explains, in plain English, what we keep and why.
What we keep
- Your e-mail address, so you can sign in with a link and so we can write to you about your account.
- A record that you accepted this notice.
- A scrambled (hashed) copy of your 4-digit PIN. We cannot read your PIN.
- For each child: a first name or nickname, an age band and an avatar. Please do not use a surname.
- Which stories, activities and memory verses each child has finished, and when.
- If you turn reminders on: your chosen day and time, and the address your browser gives us to send a reminder.
What we never do
- We never ask children for personal information.
- We do not show adverts, use trackers, build profiles or sell information.
- We do not send any information about you or your children to an artificial-intelligence service. AI is used only by our team, before launch, to draft stories, and a named person checks every item.
Where it is kept
In the UK or the European Economic Area. Our service providers are listed on request and in our service-provider list.
How long we keep it
Until you delete a child or your account. If nobody signs in for 12 months we e-mail you, and if you do not come back within 30 days we delete the account and everything in it. If that e-mail cannot be delivered, the account is still deleted after the same period.
Your rights
You can see and download everything we hold, correct a child's age band, and delete a child or the whole account from the grown-ups area. If you permanently lose access to your e-mail address we cannot recover the account; you can start a new one.
Optional survey
We may ask one short question in the grown-ups area about whether your family came back to read a second story. It is anonymous and you can ignore it.
For children
Hello! This app is for reading Bible stories with a grown-up. We do not ask you for your name, your school or where you live. A grown-up looks after your things in the app. If you are not sure about something, ask the grown-up with you.
